Invergordon is quite remarkable for a few reasons. To begin with, it is a grain Whisky distillery, which means that the Whisky is made from grains rather than from malt. Grains means unmalted cereals like wheat or corn (maize). The site actually only has one official bottling - a 10-year-old single grain. Independent bottlings are almost as scarce.
Notes
Nose The initial aroma is of sugar coated cashews, peanut brittle and caramel coated pecans. Sweetened popcorn, brioche and apple pie indicate a sweet and nutty dram
Palate A deep creamy sweetness envelops the palate like icing on a pecan swirl bun. From intense sweetness to mouth drying thanks to the cask strength nature of this dram; vanilla custard mingles with white pepper, ginger and cinnamon
Finish A rich caramel and toffee sweetness lingers for many seconds
