Hello my name is Peter Holroyd, I’m the distillery manager here at Kingsbarns Distillery in the East Neuk of Fife. I’ve been here since the very beginning of the project back in 2014 where we were actually installing the stills and all of the rest of the equipment. What I quite like to do, and what I love doing in tours myself, is show people some of the aspects of what makes Kingsbarns, Kingsbarns. What could be more Scottish than sharing whisky and locally sourced food with friends, family or colleagues? The East Neuk of Fife is well known for its abundance of amazing produce including fish, shellfish, fine meat, vegetables and fruit. We take care to include our local bounty in the menus we offer guests who attend events and dinners at the distillery. Today (8th March) we join the global celebration of women's accomplishments in social, economic, cultural, and political spheres. As we mark International Women’s Day 2024, we are excited to bring you insights from the inspiring women at Kingsbarns, shedding light on their experiences as women in the contemporary whisky industry.

We don’t distil peated spirit, but remain true to our Lowland roots of a light spirit (the opposite end of the scale in character from peated spirit). For our peated releases, we rather use casks which have previously been used to mature peated spirit in (and some quite well known peated spirit where we are not allowed to mention the names!). This peatiness is imbued into the spirit from the cask and not from the peated barley, giving a light complexity which perfectly compliments the Kingsbarns character which we are becoming so well-known for.
