Darnley's Gin: Pay What You Like Returns This Winter!
This January, we are pleased to announce the return of our ‘Pay-What-You-Like’ tour! Introduced as a pilot back in December 2022 and limited to Sundays, the visitor initiative is now back and enhanced with two daily tours – whisky and gin - running seven days a week from Monday to Sunday until the end of February 2024. During their visit, guests are guided through either our Darnley's Gin Cottage or Kingsbarns Distillery, walking through our exhibition spaces, delving into the history and heritage of each brand, learning insights into the production process of whisky or the art of gin distillation. Smoke & Zest is a unique gin that promises a symphony of flavours, making it the ideal companion for cosy evenings by the fire. Developed in collaboration with Kingsbarns Distillery, our gin is a testament to craftsmanship, featuring locally sourced barley which has been smoked over pinewood chips, and a carefully curated blend of botanicals, including coriander from our very own gin cottage garden. Spice King - Boulevardier
Ingredients
30ml Spice King Blended Malt Scotch Whisky
30ml Campari
30ml Sweet Vermouth
Orange wedge to garnish
Method
Pour all ingredients into a mixing glass and stir well over good quality ice.
Strain into a rocks glass filled with a large ice cube.
Garnish with a wedge of orange.
Darnley's Gin: How to make a Darnley's Spiced Gin Hot Toddy
Darnley’s – Spiced Hot Gin ToddyIngredients:75ml Darnley’s Spiced Gin2 tbsp Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice1 tbsp Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice1 tbsp Honey4 Cloves4 Cardamon Pods2 Cinnamon Sticks Method: 1. Place the cloves, cardamon pods and cinnamon sticks in a small saucepan with 300ml water. Bring to the boil, then simmer gently for 10 minutes to infuse the spices. 2. Add the honey and stir until dissolved, followed by the gin, orange juice and lemon juice.
