In honour of the upcoming Platinum Jubilee celebrations this weekend, our Communications Manager, Eleanor Robson, shares a cocktail recipe to toast to The Queen’s unprecedented reign.
Inspired by the flavours of the official Platinum Jubilee pudding – lemon Swiss roll and amoretti trifle – the bright lemon and elderflower notes of our Original Gin truly shine in this cocktail. Perfect for sipping at street parties or in a sunny spot in your garden.
For one cocktail, you will need:
1. Squeeze fresh lemon juice into cocktail shaker with Darnley’s Original Gin and sugar syrup.
2. Fill the shaker with ice, then shake well and strain into champagne glass.
3. Top up with sparkling wine – in honour of the jubilee we’re using an English sparkling wine. Allow the bubbles to settle before adding a touch more sparkling wine.
4. Stir gently and garnish with a twist of lemon zest.
