Introducing The Castle Collection
A new range of independently bottled, age-stated single malt Scotch whiskies from distilleries across Scotland, selected by Isabella Wemyss. Named after Wemyss Castle, our family’s ancestral home in Fife, the collection draws on more than two decades of experience in selecting and maturing distinctive whiskies.
The First Edition: Glenglassaugh — a decade in sherry casks
The collection opens with a 10-year-old Glenglassaugh Highland single malt, fully matured in sherry casks. Rich dried fruit, caramel and oak spice are balanced by a fresh coastal character, leading to a long, warming finish with a gentle maritime note.
We purchased the spirit as new make and matured it for ten years under Isabella’s guidance. From recognising its potential to selecting the casks and following its development, our involvement began long before bottling.
Its origins lie at a coastal Highland distillery that was mothballed for more than two decades before reopening in 2008. With independent bottlings from the distillery still uncommon, this first edition offers an opportunity to discover its distinctive character through our own selection and maturation.
Our heritage, reflected in every detail
The original Wemyss Malts logo returns alongside handwritten script and a tactile, parchment-inspired label. Deep red detailing reflects the sherried character of this inaugural release, bringing the story of the whisky through to its presentation.
