A family with a dream




The Wemyss family have had a longstanding passion for malt whisky and their connections with the industry date back to the turn of the 19th century when John Haig (founder of Haig's) built his first distillery on Wemyss land.

Having the brother and sister duo, William and Isabella Wemyss, produce the Kingsbarns Single Malt Whisky is the ideal fit as not only are they connected with the land and the community around the distillery, but they already have an established reputation in the whisky business as independent bottlers of single cask, blended malt whiskies and gin.

William Wemyss, commented on behalf of the family: “This rare opportunity to distil our own single malt whisky and develop a new Scotch whisky brand to support our existing business as an independent bottler will secure the family interest in Scotch for the next generation.”
