About Balcomie Cask Strength
Balcomie Cask Strength joins us as a limited edition for 2022. This light, sweet and fruity Single Malt has been matured in American oaks butts which have previously been used to age sherry using the traditional solera system. This means that the harsh wood characters have been removed, resulting in an elegant whisky where the sweet spirit is balanced perfectly by gentle sherry notes of the cask which nurses it to maturity.

I can’t use the word to explain the taste and how Incredible whisky is, just only “Is it your glass of whisky”, it's suitable for daily chilling, if you love it some like higher spirit, not too smokey, not too normal taste, every time need some surprise, you never will be disappointed for the option， 59.9% & the sherry flavor it is “just right just perfect “
Having tried this at an open night at the distillery which led to a merry purchase, the Balcomie is a superb dram. There's a beautiful balance to the malt, with some citrus notes balanced by some treacle and spice. It also pulls off that impressive feat of being very drinkable at cask-strength, but a little water does help it open up further.
Cask strength edition - I had the opportunity to taste this edition during the presentation in the Czech Republic, absolutely great whisky full of flavors, I look forward to the next editions of cask strength
You can tell the difference on the nose from the Balcomie 46% and the flavour and mouthfeel are more alcohol forward but still a very nice dram.
I discovered it during a festival. Loved it.
